At about 0520 hours local time today (9 February) Tampa Pay Pilots suspended all inbound and outbound vessel traffic, due to gale force winds and high sea condition offshore making it unsafe for pilots to board.
Current wind conditions are approximately 13-17 knots NNW in the Middle Bay. Seas of are 8’.4-9’ at Egmont Channel.
The National Weather Service reports the gale force conditions should last until about 1900 hours or late evening.
