Permissible draughts & dimensions

Port Qaim Authority has announced the maximum draughts and dimensions for ships calling at the port, from 16 November 2025 to 15 May 2026, as follows:

FOTCO OIL TERMINAL
- Permissible draughts: 13.00 metres (max DWT 75000 tons)
- L.O.A.: 245.00 metres
- Beam: 42.00 metres

FAP Grain & Fertilizer
- Permissible draughts: 13.00 metres (max DWT 75000 tons)
- L.O.A.: 250.00 metres
- Beam: 43.50 metres

IOCB
- Permissible draughts: 12.00 metres (max DWT 75000 tons)
- L.O.A.: 230.00 metres
- Beam: 40.00 metres

EVTL-13
- Permissible draughts: 11.00 metres
- L.O.A.: 225.00 metres
- Beam: 40.00 metres

LCT
- Permissible draughts: 10.00 metres*
- L.O.A.: 210.00 metres
- Beam: 33.00 metres
[* Vessels more than 09.50 metres and up to 10.00 metres draught at LCT terminals and vessels more than 10.00 metres up to 10.50 metres draught at MW-4 will be allowed by taking benefit of the tide.]

MW-1
- Permissible draughts: 09.50 metres
- L.O.A.: 225.00 metres
- Beam: 33.00 metres

MW-2
- Permissible draughts: 10.00 metres
- L.O.A.: 225.00 metres
- Beam: 33.00 metres

MW-3
- Permissible draughts: 10.00 metres
- L.O.A.: 225.00 metres

MW-4
- Permissible draughts: 10.50 metres*
- L.O.A.: 225.00 metres
- Beam: 33.00 metres
[* Vessels more than 09.50 metres and up to 10.00 metres draught at LCT terminals and vessels more than 10.00 metres up to 10.50 metres draught at MW-4 will be allowed by taking benefit of the tide.]

QICT-I (Berth No.5)
- Permissible draughts: 12.00 metres**
- L.O.A.: Up to 310.00 metres
- Beam: 48.00 metres
[** Vessels more than 11.50 metres and up to 12.00 metres draught at QICT-I (Berth No.5) terminals and vessels more than 12.00 metres up to 12.50 metres draught at QICT-I (Berth No.7) will be allowed by taking benefit of the tide.]

QICT-I (Berth No.5)
- Permissible draughts: 12.00 metres**
- L.O.A.: More than 310.00 metres & up to 340 metres
- Beam: 46.50 metres
[** Vessels more than 11.50 metres and up to 12.00 metres draught at QICT-I (Berth No.5) terminals and vessels more than 12.00 metres up to 12.50 metres draught at QICT-I (Berth No.7) will be allowed by taking benefit of the tide.]

QICT-I (Berth No.7)
- Permissible draughts: 12.50 metres**
- L.O.A.: Up to 310.00 metres
- Beam: 48.00 metres

- L.O.A.: More than 310.00 metres & up to 340 metres
- Beam: 46.50 metres

QICT-II
- Permissible draughts: 13.00 metres
- L.O.A.: Up to 310.00 metres
- Beam: 48.00 metres

QICT-II
- Permissible draughts: 13.00 metres
- L.O.A.: More than 310.00 metres & up to 340 metres
- Beam: 46.50 metres

SSCG/LPG
- Permissible draughts: 10.00 metres
- L.O.A.: 163.00 metres
- Beam: 33.00 metres

EETL (LNG-1)
- Permissible draughts: 12.00 metres***
- L.O.A.: 295.00 metres
- Beam: 43.40 metres

PGPC (LNG-2)
- Permissible draughts: 12.00 metres***
- L.O.A.: 295.00 metres
- Beam: 43.40 metres

PIBT
- Permissible draughts: 13.00 metres
- L.O.A.: 230.00 metres
- Beam: 33.00 metres

PQEPC Terminal
- Permissible draughts: 12.00 metres
- L.O.A.: 210.00 metres
- Beam: 33.00 metres

Requirement for laden tanker vessels entering or leaving harbour during night with maximum parameters for vessel more than 150 metres and up to 230 metres LOA with 33.0 metres beam and 12.0 metres draught at FOTCO Terminal will be allowed by taking benefit of the tide under keel clearance of 2 metres tide. Additionally, night navigation during monsoon is not permitted.

The above draughts and dimensions are subject to availability of sufficient height of tide, favourable wind and weather conditions at the time of passage for berthing/sailing of vessels.

The above noted draughts and dimensions are subject toi change in case of abnormal siltation, if any.

Berthing at risk and cost of ship owners/agents.

Ships are to commence discharging immediately after berthing.

Ships on arrival at outer anchorage are requested to intimate correct draughts and dimensions.

Vessels violating Notices to Mariners will not be accepted.

Deeper draught vessels will be handled by taking benefit of the tide.

Container vessels of LOA more than 280 metres should be with operational bow thruster or prior permission for berthing/unberthing from PQA will be required.
