Oil jetty out of service

As part of reconstruction work on breakwaters 1 & 2 at Lomé Port, the oil jetty is temporarily unavailable until June 7, 2026.

Vessels normally handled at this berth are being redirected to the ore wharf, which is already under heavy demand due to the handling of regular traffic, notably:
- Ore carriers
- Bitumen carriers
- Vessels carrying oils.

According to the Information Notice issued by the Port (N/R: DCAP/PAL/1709/26REPUBLIQUE), any vessel carrying premium gasoline or butane gas that refuses double-banking will be subject to the principle of “First vessel arrived, ready to operate, first served”. Vessels will be required to wait their turn to berth at the ore terminal, and no priority will be granted. No rescheduling or special arrangements will be permitted.

The Port Authority will notify operators of all safety, technical, and organizational measures that must be implemented to oversee and ensure the safe transfer of these products and ensure effective prevention of fire, explosion, and pollution risks.

No transfer operations will be authorized until all these measures have been fully implemented and duly approved by the Harbor Master’s Office.
