31 Aug 2017 / Mumbai, India
Following several days of heavy rains and flooding, all Mumbai ports and terminals are now returning to normal operations.
The rainfall recorded in Mumbai on 29 August yesterday is said to be the heaviest in 12 years, as much as 300mm in some locations. However, according to local reports several roads have now been cleared for traffic and the water has receded from some public areas.
Port operations have resumed but are affected by labour/staff turnout. Operations at Anchorages have also resumed though some movements are slow.
The weather was clear and sunny this morning, but more rains are forecast over the next few days.
