Oman - Night-time movement ban

Oman’s Supreme Committee has imposed a ban on the movement of people and vehicles and ordered the closure of all public places and commercial activities (while allowing home delivery service) from 8pm to 4am, effective from 20 June until further notice.

The following categories/activities are exempted from the night-time ban:

  • Movement in ports and airports
  • Trucks of three tonnes and above, water tankers and sewage transport tankers
  • Oil and gas fields
  • Healthcare workers
  • Emergency vehicles and emergency services shall only transport electricity and water
  • Private hospitals
  • Pharmacies through the night, as organised by the Ministry of Health
  • Working in factories, though employees are not allowed to move outside the factory during the ban
  • Loading and operations in factories and warehouses, with employees not allowed to move outside the factory or warehouse during the ban
  • Gas stations with a shift system, led by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Investment Promotion in coordination with marketing companies
  • Workers in public and private press and media institutions whose nature of work requires them to be at these institutions during the period of the ban, with a licence from the Ministry of Information
