21 Jun 2016 / Panama Canal, Panama
The Cabinet Council of the Republic of Panama has approved tariffs for tugboat and linehandler services at the Neopanamax locks in the Panama Canal.
According to the Panama Canal Authority Advisory to Shipping No.A-35-2016 dated 20 June, the new tariffs will come into effect from 26 June 2016.
The tug and linehandler tariffs for vessels transiting through the Panamax locks remain unchanged.
Vessels that do not exceed the dimensions for transit through the Panamax locks, but transit the Neopanamax locks due to operational reasons, will be assessed the corresponding tug and linehandler tariff for the Panamax locks. However, vessels that do not exceed the dimensions for transit through the locks, but due to special conditions or deficiencies are required to transit through Cocoli and/or Agua Clara Locks, will be assessed the corresponding tug and linehandler tariffs of the Neopanamax locks.
