From 11 April to 10 October, work to construct a new jetty and upgrading of existing jetties will be carried out at the oil tanking storage terminal off East Jurong Channel.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.35 of 2016, the works are being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays and Public Holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 17.208'N / 103 deg. 43.493'E
2) 01 deg. 17.142'N / 103 deg. 43.424'E
3) 01 deg. 17.187'N / 103 deg. 43.345'E
4) 01 deg. 17.155'N / 103 deg. 43.327'E
5) 01 deg. 17.190'N / 103 deg. 43.309'E
6) 01 deg. 17.232'N / 103 deg. 43.333'E
7) 01 deg. 17.288'N / 103 deg. 43.234'E
8) 01 deg. 17.339'N / 103 deg. 43.263'E
Crane barges will be used for the upgrading and construction concrete works, installation of jetty structural elements. Flat top barges will be used to transport and store the materials. These flat top barges will be assisted by tugs.
A safety boat will be deployed in the vicinity to warn other craft about the work.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 25 (Pasir Panjang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Pasir Panjang Control on VHF Channel 25 for assistance, if required.
