New coal berth

A new Coal Berth has been developed to handle coal imports at Paradip Port.

Kalinga International Coal Terminal Paradip Private Limited have been appointed as the customs cargo services provider for the handling of coal imports or imported goods received until cleared.

Details of the terminal facilities are as follows:

  • Terminal Type - Mechanised Dry Bulk (Coal Import)
  • Capacity - 10 MMTPA
  • Cargo Type - Unloading of all types and grades of coal from vessels
  • Cargo Stackyard – 6 Nos (approx. 1,60,00 SQM)
  • Berth Length – 370m
  • Berth Width – 24m
  • Depth (designed) – 17.1m

CARGO HANDLING CHARGES

Coal Handling charges (Thermal Coal)
- Foreign: 186.51 Rupees per Metric Tonne
- Coastal: 186.51 Rupees per Metric Tonne

Coal Handling charges (for other than Thermal Coal)
- Foreign: 186.51 Rupees per Metric Tonne
- Coastal: 111.91 Rupees per Metric Tonne

STORAGE CHARGES
15 free days shall be allowed, commencing from the actual date of receipt of goods in port premises.

Coal (all types)
- For first 10 days for the balance cargo remaining after free period: 1.72 Rupees per MT per day
- For 26th day onwards for the balance cargo – 3.44 Rupees per MT per day

BERTH HIRE CHARGES
- Foreign going vessel: 1.06 Rupees per GRT per hour or part thereof
- Coastal vessel: 0.64 Rupees per GRT per hour or part thereof
