Netting removal

28 Jan 2022 / Port of London/River Thames, United Kingdom

On or about 30 January 2022, abseilers working on behalf of Network Rail will commence removal of netting in Number 2 arch of Victoria Rail (Grosvenor) Bridge. Works will take place between 1000 and 1600.

The arch will not be closed to navigation during these works.

Safety boat PROWLER will be in attendance on the upriver side of the bridge and guard boat PROGRESS on the downriver side. Both vessels will maintain a continuous listening watch on VHF channel 14. PROGRESS will alert the abseilers to any river traffic requiring passage. On the approach of any vessels, the abseilers will exit the arch and return to the works after the arches are clear.

If there is any doubt that the abseilers are not exiting the arch in enough time, vessels are to communicate their doubt directly to the PROGRESS and London VTS.

All vessels are to navigate in the area with caution and maintain a continuous watch on VHF Channel 14.

Further details will be broadcast by London VTS on VHF Channel 14.
