Navigation restrictions for Tacony Palmyra Bridge

Due to structural repairs underway to the bascule span of the Tacony Palmyra Bridge, operation of the draw span is restricted until 2100 hours on 31 October 31.

Bridge openings will require 12 hours advance notice from mariners.

Scaffolding is suspended beneath the bridge resulting in a 4-foot reduction in vertical clearance with the bridge in the closed position. Due to the scaffolding, there is an 8-foot reduction in horizontal clearance when the bridge is in the open position. Scaffolding is secured at night resulting in no reduction of vertical or horizontal clearances.

The bridge's normal vertical clearance in the closed position is 50 feet at mean high water. Vessels able to pass through the bridge in the closed position may do so at any time.
