National lockdown

23 Apr 2020 / Sudan

A three-week national lockdown is in force in Sudan since midnight on Friday 17 April.

During the lockdown, citizens may move to shops between 06:00 and 13:00 hours every day. It also includes closing of the Nile bridges, and prohibits transportation of goods throughout the day.

The lockdown excludes essential services, which includes transportation for certain goods. Cargo capacity has been severely reduced due to reductions in volume (restricted to mainly essential goods).
