Mooring line arrangements trial

New standard mooring line arrangements will be trialled for all vessels berthing at Hay Point Terminal starting from Wednesday 20 November.

The draft process for Assigning Mooring Code for vessels as below:

  1. Vessel submits TVQ

  2. TVQ is accepted by BHP Freight and IROC+ team

  3. TVQ and Vessel GA is reviewed by HPT Shipping Officer

  4. HPT Shipping Officer recommends Mooring Code and passes information onto Production Coordinator and details the Mooring Code in the Ships File

  5. Production Coordinator input’s Mooring Code onto the short-term shipping schedule (24 to 72 hrs prior to berthing)

  6. VTS enters Mooring Code into Q Ships

  7. Agent emails proposed Mooring Arrangement Plan to Master of the vessel (2 plans one port and one starboard)
    - Pilot receives Mooring Code from Q Ships
    - Production Supervisor receives Mooring Code from ships file
    - Vessel receives Mooring Code from Vessel Agent’s Email
    - Lines Boat receives Mooring Code from Production Coordinator short term shipping schedule
