Modified berthing policy for oil tankers

From today (6 February), priority charges apply for berthing of LPG tankers at Kandla’s Oil Jetty 1 (OJ1) ahead of other eligible ships.

Edible/Vegetable Oil/LPG tanker will be berthed at OJ7 on the basis of inter se seniority (seniority between the edible & LPG tankers), subject to availability. If OJ7 is occupied by an LPG vessel or berthing is allotted to LPG vessel on the basis of seniority, edible tankers will be considered for berth from OJ1 to 04. The number of edible oil tankers berthed at OJ1 to OJ4 will be restricted to two subject to being senior to non-edible/chemical tankers.

There are no restrictions in berthing of chemical tankers.

The modified berthing policy benefits edible tankers by giving an additional berthing option (02 edible from OJ1 to 4, if OJ7 is not available).

Due to limited berth option (at Oil Jetties 2, 3 & 4), there may be delays in the berthing of chemical tankers.
