The Panama Canal Authority announces that beginning June 27, 2016, the maximum allowable draft for vessels transiting the new Neopanamax locks will be 12.80 metres (42.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW).
This draft limitation is based on Gatun Lake level projections and weather forecast for the upcoming weeks. An updated draft limitation will be announced at least 4 weeks prior to the opening of the new locks.
