Maritime Global Processing Centre holiday closure

Australia’s Department of Home Affairs Maritime Global Processing Centre (MGPC) has advised the days the times and days it will be closed over the upcoming Christmas holiday period.

The office will be closed:

  • From 4pm on Monday 24 December 2018 until start of business on Friday 28 December 2018;
    and
  • From 4pm on Monday 31 December 2018 until start of business, Wednesday 2 January 2019.

The office will not process any Maritime Crew Visas (MCVs) during this time.

MCV applications should be lodged as early as possible in the lead up to the holiday period, at least 21 days prior to arrival, to avoid any issues with delays to processing or crew arriving without visas.

This means applications should be lodged no later than:

  • Monday 3 December 2018 for crew arriving between 24-28 December 2018; and
  • Monday 10 December 2018 for crew arriving between 31 December 2018 and 2 January 2019.
