Marine site investigation southeast of Soko Islands

For approximately 5 months, marine site investigation involving drilling of boreholes [is being] carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):
(A) 22 deg. 09.580’N / 113 deg. 57.635’E
(B) 22 deg. 09.580’N / 113 deg. 58.003’E
(C) 22 deg. 08.938’N / 113 deg. 58.003’E
(D) 22 deg. 08.938’N / 113 deg. 57.635’E

The works [are being] carried out by one flat top barge and one jack-up barge. One tugboat and one guard boat provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 200 metres around the flat top barge is established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights are laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the flat top barge.

Yellow flashing lights are installed at the four corners of the jack-up barge to indicate its position.

The hours of work are round-the-clock.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
