Marine Site Investigation off Aberdeen South Typhoon Shelter

For approximately four months, marine site investigation works involving sampling of subsea soil and drilling of vibrocores will be carried out at the following locations (WGS 84 Datum):
(A) 22° 13.993'N / 114° 09.922'E
(B) 22° 13.954'N / 114° 09.919'E
(C) 22° 13.937'N / 114° 09.973'E
(D) 22° 14.001'N / 114° 09.847'E
(E) 22° 13.946'N / 114° 09.849'E
(F) 22° 13.916'N / 114° 09.872'E
(G) 22° 13.998'N / 114° 09.817'E
(H) 22° 13.954'N / 114° 09.780'E
(I) 22° 13.889'N / 114° 09.831'E
(J) 22° 13.940'N / 114° 09.731'E
(K) 22° 13.901'N / 114° 09.723'E
(L) 22° 13.889'N / 114° 09.753'E

The works will be carried out by two flat-top barges. One tugboat will provide assistance. Vessels engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

A working area of approximately 80 metres around each flat-top barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the flat-top barges.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works locations outside the hours of work.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
