Marine site investigation at Lung Kwu Sheung Tan

Vessels navigating in the vicinity of Lung Kwu Sheung Tan are urged to proceed with caution due to marine investigation works being conducted for approximately eight months from 29 April, 2026.

The work is being conducted from 0700 to 2300 hours daily (except Sundays and public holidays). It involves drilling of boreholes and cone penetration tests will be carried out being conducted by four jack-up barges, one flat-top barge and two dumb lighters, with two tugboats assisting.

A working area of approximately 50 metres is established around each barge and dumb lighter will be established, with yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors. Yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of each jack-up barge.
