Marine construction & dredging works

Major marine construction and dredging activities [have] commenced in the open seaside area located north of [Khalifa] port main basin.

Dredged materials will be discharged to a reclamation area, using floating pipelines. Whence completion of dredging operations floating pipes will be removed.

Four temporary yellow special maker buoys showing a flush yellow light every 5 seconds are positioned all over the place around the restricted area. The markers are placed on below mentioned coordinates for ease of identification:

The planned work will not obstruct the inbound and outbound vessel movements through the navigational channel, to/from the port basin and the activities will be undertaken on a 24x7 basis.

No vessels other than those engaged in the project works shall enter the navigation exclusion zone/restricted area.

All vessels/crafts related to the project proceed with minimum speed and navigate with caution, keep well clear of the construction and dredging area and be aware of floating pipelines.

All movements will be coordinated with Khalifa Port VTS.

Mariners shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations, Khalifa Port Harbour Master Directions and VTS instructions at all times.

This NTM shall take effect from 27 June 2022 and until further notice.
