21 Apr 2016 / Jebel Ali, UAE
The Port of Jebel Ali is used daily by all types of vessels, including container ships, bulk carriers, tankers, barges under tow, small craft, etc. Safety in the port is of utmost importance.
As part of our commitment to maintain maximum safety for the shipping business, we have put in place a revised ‘Emergency & Pollution Letter’ with immediate effect for all vessels calling Jebel Ali Port.
Our objective is to enhance the level of awareness on communication procedures to be followed by Vessel Masters during emergencies and to have an in-hand record of liquids/fluids on board their vessels for any future investigations related to oil spillage by vessels calling at Jebel Ali.
The Vessel Master must [also] sign and hand over the acknowledgment along with the duly filled ‘Liquid Storage Quantity Declaration Form’ to the arrival Pilot.
