Maintenance Dredging at Castle Peak Power Station Jetty, Tap Shek Kok

For approximately 10 months, dredging operations will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS84 Datum) from (A) to (E) and the adjacent jetty:
(A) 22 deg. 22.180’N / 113 deg. 55.106’E
(B) 22 deg. 22.136’N / 113 deg. 55.060’E
(C) 22 deg. 22.356’N / 113 deg. 54.814’E
(D) 22 deg. 22.410’N / 113 deg. 54.870’E
(E) 22 deg. 22.372’N / 113 deg. 54.911’E

The works will be carried out by one grab dredger. Two split hopper barges and two tugs will provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

When the works area is not available for dredging operations, the working vessels will be shifted to the standby area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS84 Datum) from (F) to (I):
(F) 22 deg. 22.280’N / 113 deg. 55.128’E
(G) 22 deg. 22.242’N / 113 deg. 55.170’E
(H) 22 deg. 22.203’N / 113 deg. 54.130’E
(I) 22 deg. 22.241’N / 113 deg. 55.088’E

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the grab dredger will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the dredger.

The hours of work will be round-the-clock.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
