The Kiel Canal Authority has announced that one big new lock chamber at Brunsbuettel locks is closed, probably until the afternoon/evening of this Friday (25 May), due to maintenance works. During the closure period, only one big lock chamber (and both old locks) will be in operation.
Further, one big new lock chamber at Kiel-Holtenau locks will be closed for maintenance works between 09:00 and 15:00 hours local time on tomorrow (Thursday 24 May) as well as on Monday 28 May and Tuesday 29 May. During this time, only one big lock chamber will be in operation at Kiel.
So far, there are no significant waiting times at in the Canal.
