Lockdown extended, phased relaxation to begin

15 Apr 2020 / India

India’s nationwide lockdown has been extended till 3 May.

However, the Central Government has indicated a cautious, district-wise, phased relaxation from 20 April onwards, in the hope that it will enable the phased restarting of factory operations.

It is up to all local governments to ensure that workers and industrial units follow guidelines and stick to rules and procedures laid down to fight the pandemic. The Commerce Ministry have suggested detailed guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures to maintain social distancing and safe operating practices.
