Lock chamber unattended

The small old lock chamber at Kiel-Holtenau is currently unattended due to a strike called by the workers' union Ver.di. It is understood that the old lock will remain unattended until 0600 hours tomorrow (21 March). Consequently only one big lock chamber is currently in service. The present waiting times prior to entering Kiel Canal are as follows: - Kiel-Holtenau: about 5 hours - Brunsbttel: about 2 hours (For information about operations in Germany contact the GAC UK Hub Agency Centre at [email protected]) Source: Sartori & Berger, Germany - GAC agent
