27 Jun 2018 / Suez Canal, Egypt
The Suez Canal Authority has announced that, with effect from 1 July 2018, the allowed cargo residues of LNG tankers to qualify for the ballast vessels due rate will be raised to a maximum of 5% of the vessel's summer deadweight (compared to 2% in effect to date).
This measure has been taken in a bid to meet the desire of LNG tanker owners and operators and to encourage more LNG tankers to transit the Suez Canal.
