The Turkish Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning, General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment Permit and Audit, has advised that for any vessel fined for environmental issues (pollution), a Letter of Guarantee by the vessel’s P&I club will be accepted and an immediate settlement of the fine or arrest of the vessel will not occur.
