Launch of Enhanced invoice Format

The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) announces the release of its enhanced invoice format, designed to improve clarity and transparency, making invoices easier to understand and fully aligned with global best practices.

Effective February 9, 2026, the enhanced invoice format will feature two new sections:

  • Section One: First page, executive summary presenting concise breakdown of charges in up to five items:
    1. Tolls (fixed and capacity components)
    2. Fresh water (fixed and variable portions)
    3. Maritime services tariff (including all maritime services)
    4. Booking
    5. Disruption (if applicable)

  • Section Two: Second page, a detailed listing of all charges corresponding to each item in the previous section.

Benefit for customers:
- Greater clarity and usability for customers and shipping agencies.
- Reduced misinterpretation and improve data reconciliation.
- Alignment with industry’s best practices.

This enhancement applies solely to the invoice format for maritime services; it does not modify current maritime services tariffs or commercial terms.

Any other improvements related to the invoice format will be communicated in due course through official channels.
