From 0001 hours on Tuesday, June 9 until 2359 hours on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, dry chamber maintenance work will be carried out on the East Lane of Gatun Locks. During this period, the West Lane will remain operational but lockage will take additional time.
The number of slots available in the Panamax Locks will be reduced to 16 during this period.
Starting from the 2nd period Tiebreaker Competition from May 26 to June 3, for booking dates June 9 to 17, four booking slots will be offers to supers and no booking slots will be offered to regular vessels. No booking slots will be offered during Booking Period 3 for supers or regular vessels. The total number of slots available will be 13 for supers and three for regular vessels.
Further, during the maintenance period, no more than seven slots available to supers may be booked for transit in each direction, and of these, no more than two with daylight restrictions per direction (combined number of daylight restricted vessels shall not exceed four vessels).
For regular vessels, no more than two may be booked for transit per direction and of these, no more than one may be allocated to vessels transiting with restrictions.
Slots allocated during the Special Period and Period 1 for booking dates within the maintenance period will be grandfathered if these limitations are exceeded.
Once the maintenance is complete, the 26 slots capacity for Panamax Locks will be reinstated for booking dates starting June 18.
