Kandla Port vessel berthing priority update

Main changes:

  • Deendayal Port Authority (Kandla) has amended its berthing priority policy.
  • Effective from the berthing meeting on August 7, 2026.
  • In the absence of Government, Coastal, or Higher Productivity Group vessels awaiting berth, vessels carrying windmill project cargo under the SAAGAR scheme will receive first priority for berthing

Impact:

  • May improve berth availability for qualifying windmill project cargo vessels.
  • Could influence vessel scheduling and port call planning for shipments moving under the SAAGAR scheme.

Additional information:

  • All other provisions of the existing berthing policy and SAAGAR scheme remain unchanged.
  • The SAAGAR scheme provides incentives for committed cargo volumes, including dedicated storage space and berthing benefits
