The 2018 Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races (IDBR) will take place off the Central waterfront between 0700 hours and 2000 hours from 22 to 24 June 2018.
The race area is bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (F) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 17.129’N / 114 deg. 09.792’E
(B) 22 deg. 17.151’N / 114 deg. 09.819’E
(C) 22 deg. 17.160’N / 114 deg. 09.878’E
(D) 22 deg. 17.117’N / 114 deg. 10.111’E
(E) 22 deg. 17.036’N / 114 deg. 10.121’E
(F) 22 deg. 16.970’N / 114 deg. 10.136’E
Mooring buoys will be laid to mark the limit of the race area. Lighters, ferries and launches will make fast to the mooring buoys to enclose the race area throughout the events. Other than crafts participating in the IDBR, no vessel will be permitted to enter the race area. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
Two pontoons will be moored to the Central Pier and Central waterfront respectively from 20 June 2018 to 25 June 2018. Owners and coxswains of vessels are advised to use other landing steps and piers in the vicinity.
In the event of inclement weather, the IDBR may be postponed to the fallback dates of 1 to 2 July 2018 and be held at Shung Mun River, Sha Tin.
