Installation of submarine cable system seaward duct

The working period for the installation of a submarine cable system seaward duct at Changi Landing Point has been extended. The work is now being carried out until 5 July.

According to The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.3 of 2026, the work is being conducted 24 hours daily - including Sundays & Public Holidays - at sea in the East Johor Straits, at points indicated by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01°23·298'N / 104°00·278'E
2) 01°23·184'N / 104°00·034'E
3) 01°23·131'N / 104°00·049'E
4) 01°23·249'N / 104°00·301'E

A work barge and a flat top barge accompanied by a tugboat/safety boat, will be deployed to perform the works. Work involves include shoring, seabed trenching, and installation of HDPE/STEEL pipes work.

The safety boat will be on standby at all times to alert and guide passing crafts/vessels to keep clear of the designated working zone.

Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 Sembawang Control); and communicate with Sembawang Control for assistance, if required.
