Installation of Aids To Navigation in Johor Straits

Between 15 December and 14 May 2025, Aids to Navigation (AtoNs) are being installed in the West Johor Straits.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.165 of 2025, the work is being conducted at sea 24 hours daily - including Sundays & public holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
MB1) 01°26·213'N / 103°40·947'E
MB2) 01°26·142'N / 103°41·190'E
MB3) 01°26·322'N / 103°41·492'E
MB4) 01°27·338'N / 103°43·878'E

The work involves the installation of 4 units of AtoNs in West Johor Straits to facilitate the reclamation works at west of Causeway.

A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control for assistance, if required.
