Inner Habour berths’ parameters under review

Due to larger vessels now visiting Fremantle Inner Harbour, the parameters for Inner Harbour berths NQ 1 and NQ 2 are under review.

The following are now in force but will be constantly reviewed:

  • Vessels at Berth NQ 1 should have a beam of less than 25m. If a vessel has a beam of greater than 25m it may be shifted to another berth or to anchorage when a vessel with LOA greater than 270m is passing.
  • If a vessel with a LOA > 315m or has a beam > 43m is arriving or departing then Berth NQ1 must be clear of any shipping.
  • No vessel is permitted to be bunkering at NQ 1 when a deep draft vessel (draft> 11m) is passing. The barge cannot be alongside.
  • No vessel is permitted to be bunkering at NQ 2 when a deep draft vessel (draft> 11m) is passing. The barge can remain alongside but must disconnect bunker hose prior to vessel passing.

If a vessel is berthed at NQ1 and is required to be shifted due to the above them all expenses will be for the smaller vessel on NQ1’s account.

Vessels may be scheduled accordingly to facilitate the above which can result in delayed berthings or sailings if a small delay is deemed most efficient for overall port operations.
