A yacht race between Hong Kong and the South China Sea will take place on 4 and 5 October 2025. About 10 yachts are expected to participate in the race.
The outbound trip from Hong Kong to the South China Sea will start at about 1100 hours on 4 October 2025 off Cape Collinson. It will follow a south-easterly route to Waglan Island, then proceed through the southern boundary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to the South China Sea.
The return trip from the South China Sea will follow a west-northerly route through the southern boundary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to the South Ninepin Group, and the race will finish at about 1700 hours on 5 October 2025 off Steep Island, Sai Kung.
Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in the vicinity of the racing route should proceed with caution and give due consideration to the contestants. Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 is mandatory.
