Guidance on devices that alter ships’ maneuvering characteristics

The U.S. Coast Guard issued a Policy Letter providing guidance regarding devices that alter maneuvering characteristics of ships to ensure safe operation in waters of the United States.

Maritime stakeholders including ship agents, owners, and operators should be aware of how these devices impact ship maneuverability and take action, as necessary, to ensure safe operations in U.S. waters.
