12 May 2016 / Panama Canal, Panama
Based on the present level of Gatun Lake and the rainfall projections for the upcoming weeks, the third draft restriction scheduled to become effective May 25, 2016, is postponed until June 6, 2016.
Therefore, the maximum authorized transit draft will remain 11.74m (38.5 feet) TFW until June 5, 2016.
Effective June 6, 2016, the maximum authorized transit draft will be 11.59m (38.0 feet) Tropical Fresh Water (TFW).
The ACP will continue to monitor the Gatun Lake level in order to adjust for draft restrictions, if necessary, and will announce changes in a timely manner.
