Fender replacement works for dolphins at Cheung Chau Typhoon Shelter

With effect from 19 September 2016 and for a period of approximately 3 months, fender replacement works for a number of dolphins will be carried out in the Cheung Chau Typhoon Shelter.

The works will be carried out by one crane boat on one dolphin only at a time.

A working area of approximately 15 metres around the crane boat will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the crane boat.

The works will be carried out from 0700 to 1900 hours daily except on Sundays and Public Holidays. The vessel engaged in the works will stay close to the dolphin outside the hours of work.

Diving operations will be carried out from time to time during the hours of work.

The vessel engaged in the works will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations. Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution, bearing in mind there are divers working around the dolphins.
