Extreme weather impacting port operations

High winds and rain are causing disruption at some ports in Greece today (21 January).

Motor launches are prohibited and pilots are not assisting the berthing and unberthing of vessels at the country’s largest port, Piraeus.

The port of Alexandroupolis, in the north-east of the country, is also under sailing prohibition.

Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest port, is not subject to any prohibition at the time of writing (16:00 hours local time on 21 January).
