The Port of Sohar Authority has advised that due to expected adverse weather conditions, all necessary precautions should be taken to secure loose items and equipment, and applicable safety procedures must be followed.
Heavy thundershowers are expected bringing 20-60mm of rain, which could cause flashfloods (wadis). There could also be strong downdraft active winds with speed ranging from 15 to 35 knots (28-64 km/h).
The sea state may rise 1.5-2.0 metres along the Musandam governorate and Oman Sea coasts.
Horizontal visibility may be reduced during thundershowers.
There is a chance of isolated rain with thundershowers over the governorates of Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and parts of Al Hajar mountains leading occasionally to flashfloods and wadis.
