“ETHERAZ” app: mandatory green status required for access to vessels

11 Jun 2020 / Ras Laffan, Qatar

The Ministry of Interior has developed a trusted smartphone application names “ETHERAZ” (Precaution) which is connected to the Ministry of Public Health’s database. This application uses GPS and Bluetooth technologies to help track COVID-19 cases and informs users if they come into contact with those who have tested positive.

The installation of “ETHERAZ” app is mandatory for all citizens and residents in Qatar.

Based on the above, effective June 14, 2020, all personnel boarding the vessels including technicians and agents’ representatives shall have “ETHERAZ” app downloaded on their smart phones and the status shall be showing green prior to entering Ras Laffan Port…

…As part of access control, no visitor to the vessel shall be accepted unless they are able to demonstrate their status.

Port understands restriction in some terminals of carrying mobile phones. The regulations in place for such areas have to be adhered to but visitors shall demonstrate either to terminal Security or to the agents of the vessels about their status being green.
