Establishment of silt curtains east of Hong Kong International Airport

For approximately 33 months, silt curtains will be established around the seawater intake at the seawall of the Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities along a line joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):
(A) 22 deg. 19.094’N / 113 deg. 56.892’E
(B) 22 deg. 19.099’N / 113 deg. 56.869’E
(C) 22 deg. 19.130’N / 113 deg. 56.878’E
(D) 22 deg. 19.125’N / 113 deg. 56.901’E

The silt curtains will extend vertically from the sea surface to the seabed. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid along the surface of the silt curtains to mark the extent of the silt curtains.

Diving operations will be carried out from a work boat from time to time during the laying, inspection and maintenance operations.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and keep clear of the silt curtains at slow speed, bearing in mind there are divers working around the silt curtains.
