Establishment of restricted area and sea parade

A restricted area will be established between 0800 hours on 8 June 2023 and 2359 hours on 24 June 2023, in Victoria Harbour off Central and Western District Promenade. Two inflatable duck shape artworks will be displayed inside the restricted area during the period mentioned above.

The restricted area is formed by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22〫16.996’N / 114〫10.011’E
(B) 22〫17.039’N / 114〫10.015’E
(C) 22〫17.031’N / 114〫10.073’E
(D) 22〫16.984’N / 114〫10.068’E

Two yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid at positions B and C to mark the northern boundary of the restricted area. Besides, floating barriers will be laid to surround the restricted area.

During the aforementioned period, no vessel, other than Government launches or vessels engaged in the said activity, will be allowed to enter or remain within the restricted area. All vessels navigating in the vicinity should keep away from the restricted area.

Besides, a sea parade comprising one of the aforementioned inflatable duck shape artworks, two tugs and one guard boat will take place in the eastern part of Victoria Harbour on 18 June 2023.

The parade will start at about 1200 hours from the above restricted area, following an eastbound route within the inshore traffic zone along the waters off Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, and then turn westbound along the waters off Tsim Sha Tsui before returning to the restricted area at about 1600 hours.

Marine Department and Marine Police patrol launches will be deployed to regulate marine traffic during the passage of the sea parade.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and give a wide berth to the parade fleet and comply with any directions given by the Marine Department and Marine Police patrol launches.
