06 Jun 2018 / Singapore
All vessels (including all harbor and pleasure craft) are prohibited from entering the restricted areas outlined below, except with the prior approval of the Port Master. The Port Master may impose conditions including restrictions of time and location.
As stated in the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’s Port Marine Circular No.06 of 2018, the Restricted Areas are:
(A) JURONG ISLAND (WGS 84 Datum)
(B) PULAU BUSING & PULAU BUKOM (WGS 84 Datum)
(C) PULAU SEBAROK & SHELL SBM (WGS 84 Datum)
[Note: Point 4 to 5 is joined by an arc with 650 metres radius centered at 01 deg. 11.468’N / 103 deg. 47.429’E (Shell SBM).]
(D) SEMBAWANG WHARVES AND APPROACHES (WGS 84 Datum)
[Note: The water areas surrounding Sembawang Wharves and Approaches have also been declared as a Protected Area under the Protected Areas (No.12) Order 2002, which came into operation on 8 Jul 2002.]
An electronic-applications system for entry to the Restricted Areas is being introduced. From 2 July 2018, harbor craft providing services in the Restricted Areas are to submit applications electronically via MARBET to MPA’s Port Security Unit for approval.
Applications are to be made on a per trip basis (“Single Entry”) unless the vessel has prior approval for multiple trips to:
- carry our project works
- provide tug/mooring services
-carry out contract work/projects on a daily basis, or
- carry out hydrographical surveys and diving operations
Hard copy applications will only be accepted if the MARINET system is down.
All applications, whether electronic or hard copies, must be submitted at least 2 hours before the vessel departs from the pier.
