31 Jul 2015 / Australia, Port Hedland
BHP Billiton Towage Services Pty Ltd (BHPB) will expand its fleet of tug boats at Port Hedland in the new year, to enhance its towage capabilities at the port. Between January and March 2015, four ART80-32 escort tugs will be introduced, increasing the BHPB fleet at Port Hedland to 18, including 11 rotor tugs with escort capabilities and seven harbour tugs. The addition of the ART80-32 tugs will help ensure that BHPB continues to safely meet the increased demand for towage services, and will enable Cape Size vessels to be escorted to the 18km point (beacon 15/16) of the channel. The new tugs will be moored on a purpose-built barge at Stingray Creek. For further details and information about operations in Australia contact GAC Australia at [email protected]
