The office of the President of the Philippines has issued a memorandum announcing enhanced community quarantine and stringent social distancing measures for the entire Luzon region, effective from 00:00 hours on Tuesday 17 March until 00:00 on 13 April.
Land, air and sea travel shall be restricted. The movement of cargoes within, to and from the entire Luzon shall be unhampered. Guidelines for accompanying crew or personnel shall be formaulated the Department of Transportation.
Other measures include:
- School activities at all levels are suspended until 14 April, resuming on 15 April.
- Mass gatherings shall be prohibited.
- A strict home quarantine shall be observed in all households.
- Mass public transport shall be suspended.
