The Bosphorus was closed to traffic between 11:15 and 12:15 hours local time today (8 October) after a 182m tanker suffered an engine malfunction around the Buyukliman area during its southbound transit.
The stricken vessel is now moving to the Ahirkapi anchorage area, assisted by two tugs, and the waterway has reopened to traffic.
