Employees of the Directorate General of Immigration Underwent Swab Test

The Directorate General Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, in cooperation with State Intelligence State (BIN), conducted swab tests from 24 to 25 August 2020 for a total of 675 employees after five employees tested positive for the virus. Previously, Directorate General of Immigration building had been locked down for 10 days starting from 12-21 August 2020 for sterilisation.

In addition to the lockdown of the building and conducting swab tests, the Directorate General of Immigration is also doing contact tracing of the officers who have been in close contact with officers who were positive with Covid-19.

Last week, the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasona Laoly, instructed the Directorate General Immigration to pay attention to public service facilities according to health protocol. In addition, there are also regular medical check-up of rapid test and swab test.

The information disclosure is also to trace the officers who have tested positive for Covid-19 and officers who are close contact, so that they can break the chain of transmission within the Directorate General of Immigration. The Minister of Law and Human Rights also instructed that the building will be locked down if there are further officers who test positive for the virus.

The Directorate General of Immigration has implemented a shift work system for all employees and work from home arrangements for employees over 50 years of age.
