Dragon boat race inside Aberdeen West Typhoon Shelter

A dragon boat racing event will take place inside Aberdeen West Typhoon Shelter from 0900 to 1500 hours on 31 May 2025 (Saturday). About 17 dragon boats are expected to participate in the race.

During the aforementioned period, a race area will be formed by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E) and the adjacent shorelines:
(A) 22 deg. 14.808’N / 114 deg. 09.560’E
(B) 22 deg. 14.783’N / 114 deg. 09.442’E
(C) 22 deg. 14.779’N / 114 deg. 09.393’E
(D) 22 deg. 14.781’N / 114 deg. 09.307’E
(E) 22 deg. 14.798’N / 114 deg. 09.307’E

Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of all vessels navigating in the vicinity should keep away from the race area.

In case of inclement weather, the fallback date of the racing event will be on 8 June 2025.

Besides, the landing steps of Aberdeen Praya Road Landing No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 will be temporarily closed from 0800 to 1600 hours on 31 May 2025. Owners and coxswains of vessels are advised to use other landing facilities in the vicinity during the period of closure.
