Dragon Boat Race and closure of landing steps

A dragon boat racing event will take place inside Aberdeen West Typhoon Shelter from 09:00 to 16:00 on June 19, 2026. About 18 dragon boats are expected to participate in the race.

Masters, coxswains, and persons in charge of all vessels navigating in the vicinity should keep clear of the race area.

A race area will be formed by straight lines joining the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (E) and the adjacent shorelines:

(A) 22° 14.808’N | 114° 09.560’E

(B) 22° 14.783’N | 114° 09.442’E

(C) 22° 14.779’N | 114° 09.393’E

(D) 22° 14.781’N | 114° 09.307’E

(E) 22° 14.798’N | 114° 09.307’E

In the event of inclement weather, the fallback date for the racing event will be June 28, 2026.

In addition, Aberdeen Praya Road Landing Steps No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 will be temporarily closed from 08:00 to 16:00 on June 19, 2026. Owners and coxswains of vessels are advised to use other landing facilities in the vicinity during the closure.
