Draft restriction in Turning Basin

Due to shoaling in the A-4 Turning Basin at Lake Charles, from August 1 a fresh water draft limit of 36' will be imposed for vessels less that 630'. For vessels of 630' and more the draft will be limited to 34' of fresh water. Masters are also reminded that no under keel clearance is guaranteed, and vessel may touch mud bank in both A-2 and A-4 anchorages. A standby tug may be required for anchored vessels in A-4 while basin is being used for turning large vessels, and during severe weather.
